Engine Policy

POLICY – USED ENGINES

Torqued Up warrants to the original purchaser that each used engine sold by Torqued Up shall be free from knocking, excessive oil consumption and engine blowby, subject to the following terms and conditions. This warranty is valid for 90 days from the date of sale.

Engine Warranty – Full Detail

The warranty for the engine specifically includes the LONG ENGINE, which comprises the block, head(s), and all internal parts. All other components remaining on the engine are solely for the convenience of the buyer and are not included in any written or implied warranty. If damage occurs to the engine due to a failure of non-covered parts, the engine warranty will be rendered void.

Bolt-on accessories, wiring, sensors, fuel pumps, injectors and turbos are not warranted nor is damage due to their failure.

COVERED COMPONENTS:

ENGINE: The following components of gasoline or diesel engines: pistons, crankshaft and main bearings, connecting rods and rod bearings, camshaft and camshaft bearings, intake and exhaust valves, valve springs, oil pump, push rods, rocker arms, hydraulic lifters and rocker arm shafts. The engine block and cylinder heads are covered only if damaged by a covered component.

SEALS & GASKETS: Seals and gaskets are replaced only if part of repair or replacement of covered components. Leaking gaskets or seals are not covered.

REPLACEMENT PARTS (INCLUDING ENGINE): The engine must be installed within 30 days of its receipt. A new thermostat, water pump, oil and fuel filter(s) and engine fluids must be installed at the time of engine installation.

In case of a total breakdown of a part or engine, the administrator’s obligation is limited to repairing or replacing broken covered components. It is the administrator’s decision to replace the engine or to replace part(s) that are covered under this contract. If replacement of an engine is required and a replacement engine is not available, we reserve the right to pay in cash the cost of replacement engine’s value. If the engine needs to be replaced under the coverage of this contract, Torqued Up has the option to replace the said engine with another used assembly of like kind and quality, or paying the contract holder the Torqued Up wholesale replacement engine cost. Torqued Up will not be responsible for any freight cost incurred. Replacement of any parts or engine will be done only once under this contract.

Before use, you must replace or install new: -

• Thermostat & water pump
• Seals, gaskets and filters (oil and fuel)
• Engine oil and coolant

TORQUED UP: -

• Are not responsible for improper installation and/or labour charges.
• Do not assume any liability for your install, removal, towing, shipping, transportation, or car rental cost.

We do not warrant oil leaks/damage on engines due to non-replaced seals, gaskets or filters.

CONDITIONS THAT WILL VOID WARRANTY

Long engine warranty is limited and will void under our terms if: -

• The engine is operated with incorrect lubricants and fluids
• The engine is overheated due to defective cooling system
• The engine is not installed by a trade qualified professional
• Any accessory not conforming to OEM specifications has been installed (including larger fuel pumps and/or turbochargers)

STANDARDS:

Subject to the limitations listed herein, Torqued Up (at its discretion) will either provide the customer another engine of the like kind and quality, if available from Torqued Up stock, or refund the value of the purchase price if Torqued Up agrees the engine is defective.

LIMITATIONS:

Any warranty repairs must be authorized by Torqued Up and will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

If we elect to replace your engine with another engine, the replacement is considered to be a repair of the original unit. The 90-day warranty period from the original date of purchase will remain in effect.

Labour coverage is limited to replacement only.  Your original installation and removal of the warranted engine are not covered.

LIMITED LIABILITY:

The liability of Torqued Up is solely and exclusively limited to supplying a replacement engine if available or refunding purchase price. Torqued Up does not assume and has no liability for labour costs or replacement of oil or coolant, damage to other engine parts or components, towing charges, telephone calls, freight, lost profits, lost time, substitute transportation or replacement vehicle or any other consequential damages. Torqued Up has no responsibility for any failure resulting from improper installation, modification of the product, faulty or incompatible parts and accessories and/or abnormal use of operation.

LIMITED WARRANTY:

This warranty is given in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose on the part of Torqued Up or the dealer installing the engine. No dealer, nor agent or employee thereof, is authorized to extend, enlarge, or any way change the terms of this warranty.

GENERAL KEY TERMS & CONDITIONS:

This product warranty is not cancellable or refundable.

This product warranty is not transferable to another purchaser or another engine.

All deposits are non-refundable.

It is the responsibility of the purchaser to review your invoice to ensure that the product ordered and terms are correct. Please contact Torqued Up immediately if your invoice does not match the product description or agreed upon terms.

In the event of a claim, administrator reserves the right to terminate the benefits of this product warranty upon the discovery of fraud or misrepresentation of a material fact by the purchaser or the purchaser’s representative.
